Basket
For wedding clients, a copy of our reprint price list is available upon request. This includes full details and prices on our range of thank you cards, reprints, dry-mounted prints and framed prints. Separate price lists are available for albums and parents’ albums.
All reprints ordered on-line are supplied either unmounted or mounted on artboard.
If applicable, postage and packing costs will be added to your order. The postage costs will depend upon the value of your order and geographical location.
Website Images
The images on the website are intended for proofing purposes only. Due to copyright protection, the images are of low resolution, measuring a maximum of 1,000 pixels @ 72 dpi in the longest dimension, but are of sufficient quality to enable viewing on a suitable monitor, tablet or smart 'phone. Although the images are fully colour-corrected at the studio, due to colour calibration discrepancies that can occur, there may be a slight difference in density and colour balance when prints are compared to the same images viewed on a monitor, tablet or smart 'phone.
All images bear the job reference number and appropriate image number. The large preview images are copyright protected.
Copyright
The copyright for any photographs taken belongs at all times to Stuart Hay Photography. Any images or copies of images whether stored digitally or otherwise and any computer programme including any source of object code, computer files or printed documentation relating to such images are protected by the Copyright and Design Act 1988. It is contrary to the Act to copy or allow to be copied photographically or electronically or by any other means an image created as part of this contract without the permission of the photographer in writing.
The images on the website are for proofing purposes only. The large preview images are copyright protected. Our server logs all website activity.
Infringement of copyright will result in prosecution.
Job Reference Numbers
Every assignment photographed is given an individual job reference number. An example of a typical job reference number is as follows:
DG36-W-23 where:
DG = Digital
36 = Consecutive job number for that year
W = Wedding
23 = The year in which the wedding was photographed
It is imperative that the appropriate job reference number(s) are quoted in all correspondence.
Image Numbers
Every image is given a reference number. This reference number comprises of the job reference number plus the image number.
An example of a typical image number is as follows:
DG36-W-23-0024 where:
DG36-W-23 = Job reference number
0024 = Image number
It is imperative that the appropriate job reference number and image number(s) are quoted in all correspondence.
Print Sizes
All weddings and the majority of commercial assignments are photographed digitally using a camera which has a full-frame rectangular shaped sensor with an aspect ratio of 3:2. Preview book photographs and images within the Customer Area of the website show the entire image as it was seen through the camera at the time it was taken.
The standard digital print sizes that may be ordered are as follows:
6"x4"
7½"x5"
9"x6"
10"x7"
12"x8"
14"x10"
18"x12"
20"x14"
30"x20"
36"x24"
The above print sizes reproduce the entire image with very little (if any) cropping.
Any other print sizes not listed may be available upon request. When such print sizes are requested the composition will first be checked by the studio prior to ordering.
In the case of wedding photography, the print sizes quoted are from the Desk Collection and Gallery Collection as detailed on the reprint price list PDF e-mailed to the couple after the wedding. Clients wishing to order larger prints may do so from the Connoisseur, Contemporary, Canvas, Canvas Wrap and Box Frame Collections. The print sizes and prices are available upon request.
Print Presentation
All prints ordered on-line can be supplied either unmounted or on artboard. Unmounted prints, which measure between 5"x3½" and 14"x10" in size, are supplied packed flat. Unmounted prints, which measure between 18"x12" and 36"x24" in size, are rolled up and supplied in a cardboard tube. It is highly recommended that any prints supplied in a tube are unpacked as soon as possible upon receipt and dry-mounted onto artboard or similar in order to keep them flat and to avoid damage. It should be kindly noted that all prints, especially those supplied unmounted, should be unpacked and handled with extreme care in order to avoid damaging them. Stuart Hay Photography can't be held responsible in any way whatsoever for any prints supplied which are subsequently damaged in transit or through mishandling whilst being unpacked and thereafter.
Print Quality
All prints supplied are hand-assessed and are printed on photographic paper only.
We reserve artistic licence in relation to photographic print quality. The photographer's judgement regarding print density, colour balance and composition will be deemed correct.
Digital Images
Low resolution images measure 1,000 pixels @ 72 dpi in the longest dimension. High resolution images measure approximately 5,000 pixels @ 300 dpi in the longest dimension.
Low resolution images are suitable for viewing on a computer monitor, tablet or smart ‘phone. Because of their small size and resolution, such images aren’t suitable for printing. High resolution images are however suitable for printing.
Although the copyright for all photographs purchased remains with Stuart Hay Photography at all times, by supplying the same, clients may freely use the images as they so wish without first seeking permission to do so.
CD’s & DVD’s
Depending upon the number ordered and their combined file sizes, unless a USB stick is specified, digital images will be supplied either on a CD or DVD. In general, if the combined file size is under 700 Mb the images will be supplied on a CD and if above this figure, on a DVD.
CD’s containing individual low or high resolution images and those containing a full set of low resolution images are supplied in a paper sleeve. DVD’s containing a full set of high resolution images are supplied in a folio which has a plain leatherette cover which is available in a wide range of colours. Upon payment of a supplement, the folio can be supplied with 2 lines of text in UV print.
Once an order has been received for a full set of high resolution images written to DVD, an e-mail will be sent detailing the various available options for the included folio. Upon receipt of this e-mail, clients need to reply stating the specifications required for their folio.
USB Sticks
The standard USB stick supplied has an 32Gb capacity.
Once an order has been received for a full set of high resolution images written to USB stick, an e-mail will be sent detailing the various available options for the USB stick, it’s included presentation box and any text that may be required to personalise it. Upon receipt of this e-mail, clients need to reply stating the specifications required for their USB stick.
Postage & Packing
With the exception of small orders up to £50.00 in value, those required to be sent to addresses within mainland UK and weighing up to 10kg will be dispatched using the Royal Mail's Special Delivery service. Orders over 10kg will be posted using the Parcelforce 24 Hour service. Small orders up to £50.00 in value will be dispatched using the Royal Mail's Signed For service. The postage costs for delivery Monday to Friday, which will be calculated and added to the client's invoice, are as follows:
Orders up to £50.00 in value: £7.50
Orders over £50.00 and up to £100.00 in value: £10.00
Orders over £100.00 and up to £250.00 in value: £12.50
Orders over £250.00 and up to £500.00 in value: £15.00
Orders over £500.00 in value: £30.00
If orders are required to be delivered on a Saturday, then a supplement of £5.00 will be added to the above postage costs. In such cases the Royal Mail's Special Delivery, Saturday Guaranteed, service will be used.
If orders are required to be sent abroad, then in addition to the above fees, a supplement will be payable once the weight of the parcel and the destination is known.
In all cases and without exception, clients must give the full postal address to which the order should be sent. A signature will be required upon receipt.
Collection of Orders
If preferred, orders may be collected from the studio premises. In such cases a mutually convenient appointment will need to be made.
Payment
Upon receipt of an order an invoice will be issued for the prints and postage costs where applicable. Payment may be made by debit or credit card only.
For those clients preferring to pay by cash, such payment will need to be made in person and prior to the ordering of the prints.
Prints will only be ordered once payment has been received in full.
All prices quoted include VAT @ 20.0%.
Cancellation of Orders
Once orders have been submitted and payment made they can not be cancelled in anyway whatsoever.
Returns
Regrettably returns are not accepted unless, that is, the order is incorrect due to an error made by Stuart Hay Photography. In such cases the prints should be returned to the studio using the Royal Mail's Special Delivery service. Any such errors will be corrected free of charge.
Damaged Goods
Every effort is made to ensure that our clients receive their purchased items in perfect condition. Stringent checks are made to ensure that prints are free from damage when received from the laboratory and that they are packed using the most appropriate packaging. In the unlikely event whereby the prints are received damaged then the complete order must be returned to the studio in the original packaging using the Royal Mail's Special Delivery service. Such problems will be investigated thoroughly and any damaged prints replaced free of charge.
Any instances of damage must be reported to the studio in writing within 24 hours of receiving the order.
Data Protection Act
Stuart Hay Photography will store clients' contact and order details on our own internal database. Such confidential information will not be disclosed to any third party.
Prints for Albums
Regrettably, due to the complexities of album design, prints for albums can't be ordered or accepted via the website.
Delivery Times
Approximately 7-10 working days should be allowed for the completion of all orders. Clients are notified by e-mail once their order is ready to be dispatched.
