Commercial

We live in a visual world and businesses, no matter how small, now depend upon the finest commercial photography to market their products and services.  Without doubt, images, both still and moving, sell the products and services that we see and encounter in our daily lives, whether it be through brochures, bill boards, magazines, TV advertising, websites and social media.  To quote an old cliché, "a picture is worth a thousand words".  Investing in professional commercial photography sets businesses apart from their competitors, with the added benefits being greater customer awareness, interest and appeal, increased sales and greater profits.

Commercial photography covers a wide range of disciplines.  At Stuart Hay Photography we offer the following commercial photography genres:

  • Corporate portraits
  • Food & Drink photography
  • Product photography
  • Advertising & PR photography
  • Architectural & Property photography
  • Industrial photography
  • Site progress photography
  • Aerial photography

Whether your requirements are for a straightforward head and shoulders portrait, or for a complex product photo shoot, we'd be delighted to discuss your requirements and give you help and advice based on our wealth of experience.

Please see the Galleries section of our website for examples of our photography.

Overview

In the modern business world, it's all very well having a brilliant idea for a product or service, but it's the people who more often or not can make the difference between success and failure.  A corporate portrait, which conveys professionalism and personalty, serves as a link between the business and their clients and is a way of putting a face to a name.

Corporate Portraits

Our corporate portraits are intended for use in brochures, magazines, press releases, on websites and social media.  The photography can be done indoors at the place of work or at a suitable outdoor location of choice.  For indoor portraits, either the work environment can form the background, or we can set up a temporary studio comprising of studio lighting, plain or canvas background and posing stool.

Images may be supplied digitally or in print form.

Staff Photo Boards

One of our specialities is the creation and supply of staff photo boards.  These are regularly situated in the reception and waiting areas of businesses such as doctors' surgeries, hospitals, schools and corporate institutes.  Staff photo boards enable the viewer to quickly see the management and staff structure and put faces to a name and job title.

To create a staff photo board we usually set up a temporary studio, comprising of studio lighting, plain background and posing stool within the workplace.  If requested, the photography can be done outdoors at a location of choice.  A head and shoulders portrait is taken of each member of staff that is to appear on the photo board.  Post photo shoot, a large print is created in which the staff appear in a specified order with their names and job title underneath their individual image.  The photo board can be titled using corporate branding.  The image that's produced to create the print is saved in such a way that the photo board can easily be updated in the future as a result of staff changes or job titles.  The print produced is dry-mounted onto art board and supplied in a frame chosen from our range of corporate mouldings.

Without doubt, images sell food and drink, whether these are those seen on packaging in the supermarket, in recipes in books and magazines or within restaurant menus.  The art of food and drink photography is to make it look so appealing and apertising to the viewer that they want to eat and drink what they see before them.

We produce and supply food and drink photography for the following:

  • Factories to illustrate food and drink preparation and production
  • Packaging
  • Restaurant menus
  • Professional kitchens to illustrate continuity of presentation in situations where multiple chefs are employed
  • Recipes in books, magazines and on websites
  • Brochures and promotional leaflets

Food & Drink photography is done on location, or at the client's premises, where the products are styled and then lit with studio lighting to create mouth-watering images.

Images may be supplied digitally, in print form or in commercial albums.

If you are manufacturing or selling a product, you’ll need top quality product photography to sell it to your awaiting customers.  Our product photography can be done in a temporary studio, comprising of studio lighting, background and props set up at your premises.  Alternatively, the photography can be done indoors or outdoors at a location of choice.

If companies want to get involved with, or oversee, the photography shoot, we are more than happy to work closely with a creative director.  Alternatively, we can work to a specific brief or be left to our own devices to produce images using our imagination based on our wealth of experience.

For those businesses requiring multiple, basic product shots for use in catalogues and on e-commerce websites, we offer a very affordable pack shot service.  Such images feature the product shot against a plain background using a standard studio lighting arrangement.

Images may be supplied digitally, in print form or in commercial albums.

Words alone can't be used to sell an idea, concept or product to the awaiting public and business community.  In Advertising & PR photography the images need to tell a story and be able to communicate and engage with the viewer with the hope that they'll buy the product, service or lifestyle concept.  Our Advertising & PR photography includes images for uses such as:

  • Advertisements
  • Press releases
  • Newspaper and magazine features
  • Brochures
  • Websites
  • Social media
